For a balanced shed, you need to know the right dimensions. A 10×20 storage shed has a maximum height of 12 feet. The width is 10 feet 1 inch, while the roof spans a width of 21 feet 7 ½ inches. This shed has a large garage door at the front and a smaller entrance door and 2 side windows. Doors and windows must be purchased separately.
The basic supplies for building a shed include pressure treated lumber, rivets, rafters, cross pieces, wedges and planks, cutters, and roofing and exterior materials including ¾ plywood siding, T1-11 siding, siding, asphalt shingles, etc. some basic tools you’ll need for building a shed is different types of saws and hammers with galvanized nails, L-joints, etc. Buy doors and windows separately for your shed according to the measurements.
X20 Lean To Garden Shed Plans
Making the roof can be tedious and complicated, but once this part is over, your shed can be ready in a day.

How To Build A Lean To Shed
We recommend investing in the best materials you can afford. Therefore, you should buy weather-resistant wood, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before resizing components to the appropriate size. Drill pilot holes through the components before inserting the wood screws to prevent the wood from splitting. The first step in the project is to build the ground frame. Cut the beams from 2×6 wood. Align the smooth edges and make sure the corners are square. Place joists every 16″ on center. Drill pilot holes and insert 3 1/2″ screws. Alternatively, you can use beam suspension. Measure the diagonals and make adjustments until they are equal.
Use 4×4 wood for the sleds. Place the sleds under the floor frame. Use strapping to secure the sleds to the floor frame.
Use 3/4″ tongue and groove plywood. Invest in pressure treated plywood as the floorboards will be exposed to moisture. Cut the boards to the measurements shown in the diagram and in the cutting list. Leave no gaps between the sheets and flush the edges. Drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/ 8″ screws every 8″ along the frame to secure the sheets in place.

Use 2×4 lumber for the back wall frame. Cut the components to the correct dimensions as shown in the diagram. Drill pilot holes through the boards and insert 3 1/2″ screws to attach the wall frame. Make sure the corners are square and align the edges. Place the studs every 16″ on center.
Next, assemble the front wall frame for the 10×20 garden shed. As you can see in the diagram, you need to leave a 96″ opening so you can install 4 foot bi-fold doors. Use 2×6 lumber for the double head. Attach a piece of 1/2″ plywood between the 2x6s to make it 3 1/2″ thick. You can adjust the size of the opening and make it fit your needs.
