Beautiful Home Outside Images – Owning your own home is one of the great Australian dreams. It gives him pride, joy, satisfaction and a place to come home to after a hard day’s work. A place to raise children, have pets and relax at weekends. But did you know that a much neglected part of the home is the outside? Some people get so caught up in decorating and beautifying the interior that they forget about their facade. Let’s see why a beautiful home exterior is more important than you think.

When a visitor, house guest, salesperson or new colleague knocks on your door for the first time, the outside of your house will be the first thing they see. Imagine if you had some fancy outdoor blinds or other eye-catching decorations on your facade. You would certainly make a good first impression. You want your house to reflect your own personal brand – be it power, prestige, comfort, relaxation or whatever you desire. After all, it is important that you maintain the upper hand on your own domain. So make sure your facade reflects who you really are. Speaking of first impressions…

Home buyers are picky. Many couples attend quite a few open houses before deciding to buy a property. The first thing they see when they get out of their car is the outside of your home. If your facade is crumbling, with peeling paint or faded weatherboard, or cracked bricks or other obvious signs of disrepair, chances are these buyers will look elsewhere smartly. A well-maintained exterior can make tens of thousands of dollars of difference in selling your pad.

Maintaining the exterior of your house is about more than just first impressions and resale value. There are things you can do to keep your place looking good that will have a positive effect on how your house functions. Take your gutters for example. Cleaning your gutters regularly not only keeps them looking good, it also ensures that rainwater drains properly, protecting your property from costly and unsightly leaks and drips.

Roof coverings and tiles also protect your property from the elements. Although a cracked roof looks bad, it is also a risk to your property in the event of a rain or storm. In the case of weatherboard houses, a fresh coat of paint keeps things looking good, but also helps preserve the wood and prevent cracking and rotting from the weather.

When it comes to your garden, while shrubs and trees look great, be careful not to plant them too close to your home. Roots can enter and move with the structure of your foundations (especially wooden stumps) or cause rot under your house. Speaking of gardens…

Your garden also says a lot about your home. A messy, weed-filled yard makes it look like you don’t care about the rest of your property. Try to spend some time each week in your garden weeding and pruning. Also remember to water your plants and grass. If you don’t like doing this, try hiring a gardener. As well as for aesthetics, a lot of exterior maintenance is doing yourself a favor and keeping your place safe. Finally, don’t forget about the garden!

Renovating the exterior of your home doesn’t require a major overhaul. So why wait until something breaks, breaks or rots to make any changes? You don’t need a “For Sale” sign in your yard to consider investing in projects to increase your home’s curb appeal.

Adding fresh accents to your home, such as buying new cushions for a couple of sun loungers, or even a couple of hanging plants, can offer great value for money. Plus, you’ll get a little thrill every time you pull into the driveway. Let the spree begin by trying out some update tips.

It is not a significant financial investment, and it is also relatively easy to repaint. If you want a more conservative approach, choose a historic color typical of the area or neighborhood, such as an almost black Charleston green or a soft coastal blue. Being bold is also fun. Anne Daigh, founder and principal of Daigh Rick Landscape Architects in Nashville, says her preference is yellow “with a gold or mustard tone to it, almost like ocher.” It can work on a brick or a white house,” she explains. “It really pulls everything together.” What’s her other favorite color? “A shade of raspberry on a white house,” she adds.

Consider accessories for planting that change with the seasons. If you have steps leading to the front door, add a few docks or groups of pots. You can plant topiary boxes or other evergreens as filler throughout the year and then add annual flowers. “Keep it simple with contrasting tones. If you have a red brick house, you don’t necessarily want pink flowers right next to it. Purple and blue pop against a white roofed house, but so does green!” says Daigh. Bottom line: Don’t go overboard and choose plants in one or two shades (such as white and green) that contrast with your home’s exterior.

Even if you don’t technically have a classic cabin, you can still create the same warm, friendly atmosphere. “I love a fence,” said Daigh. “I know it seems clichĂ©, but it makes a place so inviting, like arms reaching around the house to welcome you.” A wooden fence with simple diagonal cuts is ideal for a Craftsman style bungalow or home. Or invest in a wrought iron fence for a more dignified architecture, such as Georgian. “Keep it low – no higher than 32 inches. You don’t want your home to feel like a prison,” she says.

Pressure washing is quick, cheap and satisfying. Much like shining your shoes, it’s a simple task with a huge journey. “And it’s significantly cheaper than a full paint job,” said Chauncey Clark, realtor and vice president of The Peninsula Co. in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. You can rent a pressure washer from your local home improvement store.

Daigh says one of the biggest mistakes that detract from the house is having too many plants. Her advice? “Let the architecture shine. Let the foundation show; it will give the home presence. Layers of overgrown landscaping can be muddy in appearance,” he says. If in doubt, stick to a wooden box. “They are my favorite anchor plants – group them in the corners to add structure, but don’t block the base,” adds Daigh. Then fill with grass or a low ground cover (no more than 6 inches high) that runs all the way to the base.

They are a lot like puppies – high maintenance but cute. Daigh says window boxes need to be watered often, sometimes every day, so make sure you have easy access to them. They should be at least 12 inches deep (to give the plants enough room to root and grow) and have adequate drainage. Daigh likes to use boxwoods and ivy, adding pansies in winter and one more year in summer.
